| Collector’s Caravan Returns To Pinckneyville June 13th Pinckneyville, Illinois' Courthouse Lawn is the site for the 3rd Annual Collector's Caravan "Train Loads of Treasures." Scheduled for Saturday, June 13th, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., this is an event you won't want to miss. Pinckneyville is sure to be the destination for a full-filled treasure hunting day with the newly added attraction of a Silent Auction. The auction will take place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will include Antiques, Cardinal Memorabilia and lots of wonderful things. Over 35 vendors will line the square offering antiques, crafts and collectibles. To entice the interest of a variety of collectors, you'll find an assortment of furniture, glassware, jewelry, crafts and flea market items. Always a hit are the Amish-made jams and homemade gourmet items, as well as the sweet and delicious caramel corn. And to please the palate, food vendors will offer a variety of delightful items plus homemade bakery items will also be available. Michael Hobbs, certified appraiser and board member of Illinois Auctioneers' Assn. will be on hand to give antique appraisals from 9 a.m. to 2 pm. Appraisals will not be given on coins, firearms, jewelry or from photographs. The cost of an appraisal is $2.50. While in the area, don't forget to visit the several large antique malls that will offer a variety of specials and side walk sales at participating merchants. There will be a 50/50 drawing during the afternoon at the Caravan. Tickets are currently available at the Chamber of Commerce office, The Flower Patch and First National Insurance. 50/50 tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. On Saturday, June 13th, tickets may be purchased at the Chamber trailer on the South side of the Courthouse lawn. Limited vendor space is available...in the shade, under the trees on the Courthouse lawn. Set up fee is only $10.00 for a 10X10 space and this fee will be used for advertising purposes. Pinckneyville is easily accessible...only 18 miles south of I-64 on Route 127 and 8 miles west of Rt. 51. So mark your calendar for Saturday, June 13th and spend the day in Pinckneyville. |
