| Chamber Spotlight Pyatt Funeral Home: Celebrating 75 Years! ![]() Celebrating 75 Years! The Funeral Home began in 1934 as Hudson-Horner Funeral Home located in the Hoffman Hotel building (where the current Stotlar Drug Store is located today). Business for “Pyatt” funeral home began when Maurice J. Pyatt bought Hudson’s interest in 1935 and Homer’s interest in 1943. That same year the Funeral Home was moved to its current location at 309 S. Main Street. Maurice’s son, Richard Pyatt became involved in the business after he returned from the Korean War. In 1989, Richard’s son, Kevin Pyatt came back to Pinckneyville to become involved in the family business. In 1977 the Coulterville funeral home was added and the DuQuoin funeral home was added in 2004. “I love what I do, as my father and his father did. I can’t imagine doing anything else. Pinckneyville and the surrounding communities that we operate in have been wonderful to my family over the years. I’m deeply humbled and thankful that we have been given the opportunity to serve our friends and neighbors.” Congratulations once again to Pyatt Funeral Home. We appreciate having caring, dedicated businesses such as yours in our community! |
